How to share google forms responses without edit permissions?

Google Forms does not have the option to specify access permissions when sharing a form with collaborators. Instead of adding your team members as collaborators in Google Forms, you can sync the form responses to Google Sheets and then add them as collaborators in Google Sheets. This will allow you to share google forms responses without edit permissions.

How to sync form responses to Google Sheets?

You can create a new spreadsheet for responses in Google Sheets or choose from your existing spreadsheets in Google Sheets to store responses.

  • Open your form in Google Forms
  • Click Responses
  • Click spreadsheet icon
  • Select response destination screen will be displayed
  • Select Create a new spreadsheet or Select existing spreadsheet
  • Click Create or Select

How to share Google Sheets with read-only permissions?

Once you have synced your form responses to Google Sheets, you can use the SHARE option in Google Sheets to add collaborators and specify viewer access.

  • Open your form in Google Forms
  • Click Responses
  • Click spreadsheet icon to view form responses in Google Sheets
  • Click Share
  • Share with people and groups screen will be displayed
  • Enter the email address or groups you want to share this sheet with
  • Choose Viewer or Commenter access for each of the email address & groups
  • Click Send
